Training Sandbox

Now you have a safe place to learn Renterra, try out workflows, and train new staff. Test workflows and features in a dedicated sandbox environment that mirrors a copy of your real data and refreshes daily. Nothing you do in the sandbox touches your live data.

Any user can access the Sandbox through your profile icon in Renterra. Log in with your existing Renterra credentials.

Note: External integrations, payments, and outbound communications are disabled so you can experiment without affecting live operations.

Send the Full Rental Packet in One Step

Getting a customer rental-ready used to mean sending the quotes, contracts, deposits, and invoices, as separate messages, and it was easy to forget a step. Now you can send everything in one.

Choose what to include, send a single communication to your customer, and the customer completes all steps from a single link. You can also:

  • Set org-level defaults for which steps are included, and arrange the order customers complete them in
  • Select multiple invoices to include in one packet
  • Include customer forms as part of the send

Access this from the order using Send Rental Packet button on Rental, Reservation, and Completed statuses.

💡 Improvements

  • Customer portal upgrades: Paid and unpaid statement views, a new map, a view of equipment on rent, a better-organized equipment dashboard with access controls, and an improved payment method UI.
  • Set a default payment method: Designate a default credit card and ACH account on a customer profile. When you process payments, collect deposits, or pay invoices, the default method is pre-selected automatically.
  • Clearer statement payments: Invoices paid through a statement now show a note with the total statement amount, and each payment entry links directly to that payment in the payments table.
  • Customer credit balance in the payment dropdown: See a customer's available credit right where you process payment.
  • Edit meter readings and fuel levels on past checkpoints: Correct meter and fuel readings on completed checkpoints from the order timeline. Updates flow through to item details and invoices.
  • Review next maintenance date when closing a work order: Closing a scheduled preventative work order now shows the next maintenance date so you can review or adjust it before finalizing. Other work orders get a confirmation prompt too.
  • Clearer cross-branch availability for slots: When a slot is only available at another branch, availability now shows a yellow Availability badge and a banner on the order page.
  • Assign multiple maintenance templates in bulk: When bulk editing inventory items, you can now select several maintenance schedule templates at once instead of one at a time.
  • Storefront category pages: Customizable headers, descriptions, and subheadings, plus SEO markup on category pages.
  • "Create Adjusting Entry": The ledger's "Create Credit Memo" action is renamed to "Create Adjusting Entry" to better match how accountants think about it. You can now also tie an entry to a specific invoice when you create an adjusting entry.
  • QuickBooks — prepaid invoices sync only once earned: Prepaid invoices now sync to QuickBooks only after they're converted to Earned status, so your books reflect revenue when it's actually recognized instead of posting prematurely.
  • QuickBooks — disconnect a synced link: Unlink a QuickBooks connection from an invoice or payment directly, instead of needing support to undo it.

  • Global search: Fixed global search being slow and returning incomplete results across the app.
  • Mobile photo uploads: Fixed Android crashes during photo uploads at checkpoints by capping image compression.
